Treak Itinerary
Day 1 to Shira 1 camp 3610m:
Today’s 2-hour hike takes us through the enchanting moorland zone. We’ll wander along clear mountain streams, admire the unique vegetation, and soak up the tranquility of the Shira Plateau. This treak will cover 4km. As we ascend, we’ll take frequent breaks to acclimatize and savor the breathtaking views.
Day 2 to Moir hut 4200m:
Today’s 4-6 hour hike takes us across the stunning Shira Plateau, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We’ll pause for a delicious picnic lunch at Fisher’s Point, before continuing our trek through the enchanting moorland zone. After a 1-2 hour hike, we’ll reach our camp, nestled at the base of a massive lava flow.
Day 3 to Baranco camp 3940m:
Today, we embark on a challenging 6-8 hour hike through the otherworldly alpine desert. We’ll ascend steep slopes and traverse rocky terrain, reaching the impressive Lava Tower. After a well-deserved lunch break, we’ll descend for 2 Hours to Barranco Camp, where we’ll rest and prepare for the summit push..( Due to this Altitude change people milk have light Headaches )
Day 4 to Karanga camp 3995m:
Today, we embark on a challenging 4-6 hour hike, scaling the iconic Great Barranco Wall (1 – 2Hrs). This exciting scramble will test our climbing skills as we navigate steep sections and maneuver around rock formations. After reaching the top, we’ll descend to Karanga Valley and enjoy a well-deserved lunch at our campsite.
Day 5 to Barafu camp 4673m
Today, we embark on a challenging 4 km 3-5 hour hike through the otherworldly alpine desert. We’ll ascend steep slopes, navigate rocky terrain, and reach a high-altitude camp. Prepare for breathtaking views and the thrill of conquering this demanding terrain.
Day 6 to Summit to Uhuru (5895m) and descend to Mweka hut:
After a restful night, we’ll wake up at 11:00 PM, ready to conquer Kilimanjaro. Our expert guides will lead us on a challenging but rewarding 6-8 hour ascent, with frequent breaks to hydrate and fuel up. We’ll navigate steep, rocky terrain, ascending approximately 600 meters to Stella Point. Along the way, we’ll witness breathtaking sunrise views over the vast expanse of the African plains.
Day 7 Descend from Mweka hut to Mweka gate (1640m) and drive back to Moshi:
Today, we’ll embark on a 3-4 hour descent through the lush rainforest, covering a distance of 10km. Keep an eye out for playful blue monkeys and elegant colobus monkeys as we make our way to Mweka Gate. After signing out of Kilimanjaro National Park and receiving your summit certificates, we’ll head to Moshi for a well-deserved hot shower and celebratory Kilimanjaro beer.
