Day 1: Arrival in Arusha
Upon landing at Kilimanjaro International Airport, your guide will warmly welcome you and escort you to your hotel in Arusha. As the starting point for Tanzania’s northern safari circuit, Arusha offers the perfect place to relax and get ready for your upcoming adventure. Depending on your arrival time, you can unwind at the hotel or take some time to explore the vibrant town.
Arusha – Tarangire National Park
After breakfast, head to Tarangire National Park, famous for its impressive elephant herds and striking baobab trees. Spend the day exploring the park on an exciting game drive, with opportunities to spot lions, leopards, giraffes, and zebras. The Tarangire River, a vital water source, draws an array of wildlife, making it a prime spot for photography and unforgettable wildlife encounters.
Day 3: Tarangire – Serengeti National Park
Begin your journey to the legendary Serengeti National Park, traveling through the picturesque Great Rift Valley. Along the way, enjoy a game drive with chances to encounter wildlife in their natural surroundings. Upon arrival, settle into your camp before heading out for an evening game drive. Experience the vast plains alive with activity, including the famous annual migration of wildebeest and zebras.
Day 4: Full Day in Serengeti National Park
After a morning game drive in the Serengeti, travel to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. On your way, visit a Maasai village to immerse yourself in their unique culture and customs. Arrive at the Ngorongoro Crater rim by afternoon, where you’ll camp for the night, taking in the breathtaking views of the crater floor below. Day 5: Serengeti – Ngorongoro Conservation Area
After a morning game drive in the Serengeti, you’ll depart for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. En route, visit a Maasai village to learn about the local culture and traditions. You’ll arrive at the Ngorongoro Crater rim in the afternoon, where you’ll camp overnight with breathtaking views of the crater floor. The Ngorongoro Crater is one of the most stunning natural wonders in Africa and home to an incredibly dense population of wildlife.
Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater – Lake Manyara
Today, descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a half-day game drive. The crater is a UNESCO World Heritage site and is famous for its “Big Five” sightings. It’s also one of the few places in Tanzania where you might spot the endangered black rhino. After an exhilarating game drive, you’ll have lunch by a hippo pool before heading to Lake Manyara National Park. On the way, enjoy scenic views of the Rift Valley.
Day 7: Lake Manyara – Arusha
On the final day of your safari, enjoy a morning game drive in Lake Manyara National Park. The park is known for its tree-climbing lions, large flocks of flamingos, and diverse landscapes. After the game drive, you’ll return to Arusha, where your safari ends. Depending on your travel plans, you’ll either be transferred to your hotel or to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your onward flight.
